Why a PINK chef's coat?

Simply put, I carry my Dad's legacy with me through my cookbook, cooking and everyday I am writing my food columns, he is always with me. I carry my Mom with me through a silent reminder of her struggle with breast cancer that took her life, as well as the lives of many other women who have dealt with, and are still dealing with, this horrible affliction. Besides, why not pink? It makes a man look good!

Apple Caramel Sauce


For 4 people


  • 1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 apple of your choice, peeled, cored and wedged
  • 3 cup(s) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter or margarine

Apple Caramel Sauce Directions

  1. Mix the apples,sugar and condensed milk together in medium saucepan. Cook on low heat until apples are crisp tender but not mushy, about 3-4 minutes. Set the mixture aside.
  2. Melt the butter in another small saucepan, and stir in the vanilla and milk. Let the mixture simmer on low heat until mixture is smooth. about one to two minutes longer.
